Description
Welcome to the self-guided Child Development Associate (CDA) program offered by Casa OtoƱal!

Our program meets the 120 clock hours of professional development required by the Council for Professional Recognition to obtain the CDA National Credential. The program is made up of eight thematic areas. These areas focus on the six CDA Competency Standards established by the Council for Professional Recognition.

Upon successful completion of our CDA program, students should be able to:

Define the requirements for establishing and maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment for young children. Identify the components to promote the physical, cognitive, communicative and creative development of young children. Define positive counseling techniques to support the appropriate social and emotional development of young children. List guidelines for establishing productive relationships with families. Identify the components necessary to ensure a purposeful and well-run early childhood program that responds to the needs of the participants. Identify the requirements to maintain a commitment to professionalism.
